Window
Q: The window text mentions that it can be freely opened/closed from the inside. Does “freely” mean “at no card cost” or “at no action cost”?
A: In the context of the card, “freely” means that the window can be opened or closed without discarding any cards or using any attacks. The player must still spend their “open/close a passage” action for the turn in order to open or close the window, even if it is at no card cost.

Vampire
Q: If a player gets turned into a vampire and rises from the dead, do they flip their token back to the hunter side?
A: Yes, Vampire horror players are not considered “dead players” anymore and can use all actions and abilities normally (with the exception of abilities that are restricted to Hunter side players only)

Chair
Q: Is it mandatory to interact with the area when you find a chair in it?
A: No, using such an ability is always optional unless the ability imposes a restriction on them (for example “You cannot survive in this Area”.

Discarding
Q: When discarding a card, does the text on the card take effect?
A: No, you do not resolve the text on the cards when discarding them, unless it is specifically mentioned.

Repelling and Surviving
Q: When resolving an Encounter, do I have to openly declare to the other players what action I am using?
A: Yes, it is mandatory that you declare to the other players what happens during the resolution of the Encounter (for example by saying “I survive it” while discarding 2 cards).

Encounters and Daybreak
Q: If I am Corrupted, or during Daybreak, I can keep the encoutner cards in my hand and use them as attacks. Does keeping encounter cards this way count against the hand limit?
A: Yes, keeping encounter cards in your hand when you are corrupted or during daybreak is an exemption to the standard rule where encounter cards do not count as being in your hand. However, even in this case you still cannot discard encounter cards; they get shuffled back to the event deck even when used as an attack.

The olden ways do yet remain unbowed.
